Who we are

Coconut Garden is managed by Head Chef, Ken Chan and Business Manager, Lily Chan. Ken honed his culinary skills by cooking for the rich and famous, in the longest established Malaysian and Indonesian restaurant in the United Kingdom, The Melati in Soho London. Patrons includes Prince Edward, Sir Andrew Lloyds Webber and amongst other famous clients. 

Where we come from

Ken is originally from Hong Kong but grew up here when his parents migrated to the UK in 1982. He has always been interested in cooking and took up a position with Melati when he's only 16. Ken is also responsible for setting up Melati Restaurant in Berlin and Sumatra Restaurant in Malta. He has had experiences in Marco's Brasserie, Yum Yum and finally settled with Coconut Garden in Dunstable when he's only 23. With a whole wealths of experiences, clients in The Coconut Garden can enjoy the ultimate and the most authentic Far Eastern cuisines using the finest ingredients.
